contact electrification

It occurs when two substances come into contact.

Contact electrification occurs when objects come into contact with each other.

In our daily life, things are constantly coming into contact with each other, so it can be said that static electricity is always generated.

Phenomenon in which charge transfer occurs when different substances come into contact with a substance that easily loses electrons and a substance that does not easily lose electrons.

How to deal with ligare thread ⇒

Use Ligare thread on contacting objects to keep electrons in balance. Weaving Ligare thread into fabrics such as clothes. Antistatic effect is exhibited by using it on either side

 triboelectrification

By rubbing two different substances together, charges (often electrons) move from one to the other.

The main factor is that when materials come into contact with each other, electrons move between materials due to the difference in their work functions.

Occurs when objects rub against each other.

How to deal with Ligare thread ⇒

Use a conductive thread (ligare) on one of the substances to cause corona discharge.

Processing into fabric, processing into string, processing into rubber, etc.

Peeling electrification

An electrification phenomenon that occurs when substances in contact are peeled off (separated).
Occurs when peeling off protective film or packing tape.
The principle is the same as "contact electrification", but it is generally called "peel electrification" because it is electrified by the action of peeling (separation).

The amount of charge is affected by the speed at which the tape is peeled off. If the tape is peeled off slowly, the amount of charge is small.

How to deal with ligare thread ⇒

Stretch braids and rubber cords woven with conductive thread (ligare) in the workshop. Alternatively, wipe off with a fabric woven with conductive thread (ligare) before work. Static electricity is eliminated by using working gloves woven with Ligare thread.

Flow electrification

Electrostatic charge generated when liquids and substances move through pipes and tubes.

It is important to use conductive materials for pipes and tubes because contact electrification is generated when a flowing material hits another object.

How to deal with Ligare thread ⇒

Wrap flat rubber or the like woven with conductive thread (ligare) around a pipe or tube to provide grounding. Wrap pipes and tubes with riggerless pin tape and discharge.

We recommend grounding.

Impact electrification

Electrification that occurs when an object or particle collides strongly

In pneumatic transportation, the higher the speed of transportation, the greater the generation of static electricity.

It is considered that this is because the contact area between the objects increases due to the collision.

The capacitance between objects in contact increases with the contact area, and the amount of charge varies not only with the contact potential difference but also with the force acting between the objects and the elastic properties of both objects.

How to deal with ligare thread ⇒
